Welcome!

Welcome to Frostburg. For more than 200 years, our Main Street community has welcomed travelers, from the days of the National Road to today’s interstate highway. That tradition of hospitality continues today in our shops and restaurants. Our museums and attractions will share the story of our region, and the beginnings of our nation. Whether you live here or are just passing through, we invite you to explore all that Frostburg has to offer.

Armstrong Insurance

Located at 21 South Water Street in Frostburg, Armstrong Insurance Agency was founded by Jack and Ruth Armstrong in 1954, representing the Erie Insurance Exchange. Purchased by their daughter-in-law Barb Armstrong and nephew Dave Llewellyn in 2005, the agency has grown to represent several companies that provide home, automobile, business, and life insurance for all of their customers. With an emphasis on providing competitive rates and a small-town touch, the folks at Armstrong Insurance believe in giving back to the community that has supported them for over fifty years.

After renovating the 1927 C & W Transit Company Bus Terminal for their new office space, the agency partnered with the City of Frostburg to jump-start the creation of a unique economic development program. By demolishing a deteriorating building and assisting with the purchase of a similar adjacent structure, the agency placed the City in a position to move forward with a parking/green space project. This endeavor will not only benefit Broadway, Main, and South Water Street businesses, but will also enhance the local community centers known as City Place and the Senior Center.

In addition to promoting the events and organizations affiliated with the local school system and youth sports programs, the agency also supports the non-profit programs that their customers find dear to their own hearts when they walk for Autism, Jump Rope for Heart, or pull a train for the Special Olympics. Armstrong Insurance is a proud member of the Frostburg community.
